Thank you, thank you! This 80-year-old granny got my Roomba working again! I rely heavily on it as it's much easier for me than vacuuming, and with a long-haired pup who sheds A-LOT, there is a ton of hair to pick up. Roomba does an awesome job of this, but as you can imagine, there were copious amounts of dog hair tangled in the wheels and brushes, causing it to stop working. Following your instructions I cleaned it out, and it's now working again!

Thank you for this video!
I got my Roomba from a neighbor who had basically forgotten his irobot roomba pet series in a damp garage for a few years, and also lost the charging station.
After cleaning the thing, buying a new charging station, and then also a new battery, I still had that pesky frustrating "charging error 3" blinking at me. So the next and last step was to dismantle the whole stupid thing to see what was wrong with it. Which was, that on the motherboard the area around the charging nodes (?) was entirely corroded and needed a good cleaning. I think I nearly shed a tear when it finally started peacefully charging once I put it all back together. Now to strap a knife on to it!
Thanks again for the video, it was nice to have instructions to follow (I think I have a slightly different model than yours, but the basics were the same) just to be sure I wouldn't end up breaking the damn thing. Cheers

Awesome vid. For anyone else wondering the free spinning wheel in the front comes off by getting a flat blade screw driver under the whole plastic shell that spins. It pulls straight up with the wheel still in place. Then you can simply pop the wheel out by pushing it from behind with your thumb. Then you can take a pliers and pull the axle out of the wheel. You can even take it one step further and remove the grey plastic piece that holds the main swivel on the roomba. It’s just 2 more Phillips screws.

Man, my little Roomba got flooded up to the gills during Hurricane Sally. I wrote it off as dead and never threw it away. After coming across your video, I think I can restore it to working order! The inside is much easier to navigate than I expected, and I'm so happy Roomba sells the modular replacement parts. THANK YOU!

Your video gave me the confidence that I could restore my Lego chomper back to his former glory. The brush motor had burned out one day when it was running on schedule and sucked up a dog toy with nobody home to dislodge it. So thankful to have it back in proper working order.

This video was amazingly helpful and saved us having to send the Roomba away for repair at significant cost. In fact the best DIY video I've ever watched - very helpful commentary and super pictures.

Thank you so much for this video! Was able to tear down the roomba, remove a TON of dust and dog dander stuff and discover that a few teeth in one of the plastic gears in the whisker motor had worn down to the point we needed to replace that motor. Easy peasy!

Just bought my first roomba used for £20. Seller said "it only works for 5 minutes and needs a new battery" I stripped it all down cleaned it and charged it and its still whirling around cleaning my house an hour and a half later. Best 20 quid I ever spent.
Thanks for the video!

First, I'd like to thank you for this informative video. You clearly are very experienced, and this was both educational and fun to watch.

I tried your trick of vacuuming the filter in my dust bin with another vacuum, and it worked really well! Roomba says to just bang the filter against the trashcan, but it does nothing, and then they say to replace them every 2 months. I feel like they are just trying to get another quick penny off their customers because my filter looks as good as new after vacuuming it out. What I was wondering: since this trick works so well, how would I know when it is time to replace my filter?

Thank you!

I am a person who loves taking apart my stuff to clean it. You did a great job thank you! Been wanting to know if I could take that plate off.

This video is a life saver! It helped me replace the motherboard on my Roomba e6. Slightly different parts, but similar assembly. Thanks for this!

Thank you for this video! I had the horrible experience of needing to clean dog poop out of my Roomba and didn't know where to start. (I can't blame my dog; she's 17 and rarely has accidents!). Aside from this being a disgusting job, the Roomba is working better than ever. I appreciate your detailed descriptions!

I just fixed my 675 thanks to your video. However my problem was in the gearbox for the brushes. I didn’t see a use to replace it it seemed to be the gears were probably caked up with junk and they were. I removed the gearbox cover, pulled the gears out and cleaned up everything, relubed it all with a lube that doesn’t eat plastic as many will and it’s all going again. I was going to send you pictures but there doesn’t seem to be that feature here. Thanks for the basics

The video helped me a lot to figure out how to remove the covers on the top and disassemble the whole thing. I had to tear my Roomba E apart because it sucked in water. I didn't realize that and flipped it over to clean the brushes and remove the dust bux. So some of the water ran into the Roomba over the motherboard. That lead to no function because it thought the cliff sensor was on (error 6). After cleaning the motherboard with circuit board cleaner from both sides everything was ok again.

Good video. I have an e6 model but the general construction is similar. We have a dog and a cat and I can't believe how much hair it sucks up and wraps around all the various parts. The dust bin gets emptied daily or at the most, every other day. About once a week I go through and pull out the rollers, the castor, vacuum off the filter. It's been a while since I removed the wheels to check them out but it's likely time.

Thanks a lot. It helped me to disassemble my Roomba 896 and change the bumper sensor. Almost the same inside as in this series.

Kickass video! You certainly went MUCH deeper than where I usually go during regular maintenance! Good to know how to tear these things apart, should anything goes wrong. Thanks!

I love that🌼 it's programmable so it works even when I’m not home. Very easy to program in the app and easy to empty dust cup.

Is there a way to troubleshoot or test the brush motor, without taking it all apart first? Our unit has been cleaned well and runs OK but doesn't pick up much. Cannot see of rollers are turning when it is running.
