It must be sad to live in a country where you are embarrassed to be proud of your country and of your flag

Flying the US flag does not represent “We’re the best country in the world”. For the majority it means showing patriotism for the country we live in.

I love you both and your channels. Americans do fly our flag and are very proud of it, our country and of being American. This story is just one person's interpretation of why:
In September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a History teacher at RobinsonHigh School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks in her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.
'Ms. Cothren, where are our desks?'

She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn the right to sit at a desk.'
They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.' 'No, ' she said.
'Maybe it's our behavior.' She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.'

And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. Kids called their parents to tell them what was happening and by early afternoon television news crews had started gathering at the school to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room.

The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the desk-less classroom. Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he or she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'

At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniform, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.

Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. They went halfway around the world, giving up their education and interrupting their careers and families so you could have the freedom you have. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'

By the way, this is a true story. And this teacher was awarded the Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year for the State of Arkansas in 2006. She is the daughter of a WWII POW.

Do you think this email is worth passing along so others won't forget either, that the freedoms we have in this great country were earned by our U.S. Veterans?... I did.

Let us always remember the men and women of our military and the rights they have won for us.

We hate lawsuit culture as well! It has ruined the U.S. in many ways.

About the flag. You need to see a video about the meaning of our national anthem. It tells you the cost of our freedom. And why it's so important to us.

I am American, I eat healthy, and I have never filed a lawsuit.

When we say “I’m going to sue you” it doesn’t mean we’re actually going to do it. It’s like another way of saying “I’m offended”. If someone says “I’m going to sue you” you probably REALLY offended them.

I'm going complete arrogant American here. With 4 times as many annual immigrants as the next highest country, we didn't decide we were the best country, the world did.

Loving your country isn’t a bad thing. Yes some people may take it too far, but I love my country and I’m not gonna apologize for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I understand some people are idiots in America but we’re very proud people who love our country

Joel, don’t worry we don’t really sue each other all the time, it’s just a threat, ppl that act like that usually couldn’t afford a lawyer if they wanted to.

Most food packaging in the US does specify how much is a serving for example on the back of a thing of chocolate chip cookies a serving would be two cookies it would specify that

As much as I love you both…..remember that early Americans risked EVERYTHING, left EVERYTHING to hopefully better things for themselves. We are NoT perfect, that’s for sure!! But risk is scary. There’s bravery there! We have SO many problems here that resulted from that risk. It’s just a different pot of issues. We are absolutely hated by many countries but also flooded with people wanting to live here. I’m not sure I even understand it. But still….

When I was in London years ago, I was laughing at the “mind the gap” business on the Tube. My British friend was mystified and asked, “Well, how would they say that in America?” Surprised, I thought for a second and replied, “There would BE no gap in America; we are very litigious!” So, there is that upside to all our law suits.

Brutal honesty; this stereotype does hold true to a certain extent for we Americans. In fact my dream job is in Japan. In Japan, companies higher for what is literally deemed the "loud American" position. The only purpose of this position is for the American to represent the body of workers when they need somebody to tell off the upper level management. Americans are hired and paid to do one thing, go to the boss and tell them "Your idea is stupid, it's going to ruin the company, knock it off." I'd love to have this job.

I've never assumed we're the only free country in the world or even that we're the greatest. Many will admit our country's shortcomings. I think it's how the US acquierd its freedom that makes us willing to show patriotism. The battles fought, the sacrifices made and the wars won.

Suing: the thing is, in the US, literally anybody can be sued for any reason. That doesn't mean their case will be upheld, or won't be immediately tossed, but under the US legal system of civil torts, quite literally anybody can be sued for virtually any reason by somebody else. In fact I'm in the middle of two different legal battles as we speak.

In america, you can file a lawsuit against anyone for any reason. But that doesn’t mean anything will come of it.
