Never assume that a trespasser on your property isn't there to do you harm. Here in Colorado, we have a 'Make My Day' law. That person who broke into your home can be there to kill you. I don't know what your intentions are and will assume your there to hurt me. I, therefore, have the right to defend myself and use lethal force to defend myself. No court can tell me that I knew your intent when you broke into my private home.

This ain’t Chile buddy. This man should feel lucky he’s still breathing. A lot of us have guns. You’re straight up lucky you weren’t just shot on sight. Homeowner would’ve been within his rights.
