Caught on camera: Booby trap scares off car burglar

A man tired of having his truck broken into has taken matters into his own hands as he booby traps his property.

We need a law making it illegal for "suspects" to sue someone for damages when their victim defends their property.

It burns me up when I see thieves stealing our hard earned necessities. I think this vehicle owner did a nice thing.

What do people seriously think is going to happen when all the police will do is take a report, say "sucks to be you" and file the paperwork never to be seen again?

In my early 20’s, some guys tried to steal my car 9 times in 8 months. They kept damaging the car in an attempt to steal it. It was frustrating to repeatedly pay deductibles and get no results from the police. A friend had an old motorhome and every once in a while, would park nearby at night, until he actually was able to get the crooks on camera one night. He was able to get their car plate number and 2 of the crooks faces. With that information the police were finally able to make an arrest. I sued them for all the deductibles I paid.

I’m surprised the “authorities” haven’t arrested the owner for protecting his property in such an awesome way….but I’m glad they didn’t.

As someone who had my car stolen twice, and completely stripped down to the stick shift knob, (and a third attempt at prying the driver side door open), I applaud this man!

I'm glad this man was able to do this and _not_ face some sort of bogus charge about "endangering" the criminal. People's right to defend their own property seems to be sorely lacking a lot of the time.
