My older brother has this, refused treatment and is now homeless. It's sad and really hard to understand how he went from the brother I knew to a complete stranger. He is paranoid and when we tried to help he thought we were working with the government and stopped taking his medication then one day he just left. I've come across him on the street and tried to offer whatever I could but to no avail, we haven't seen him in months. Wherever he is, I hope he is safe and one day returns and gets treatment.

I’ve had people tell me that God can “set me free from taking medication”. Don’t listen to them. They don’t know what it’s like.

In Finland, these symptoms are attended without medication most of the time. People who have been abused often do not reveal or even realize. The Open Dialogue approach is relational. It brings people back from the edge with talking to them in a way that recognizes they are human beings. With feelings. I know, what a concept, right !😮

Thanks for this video. I’ve been doing some research into this as my friend is becoming increasingly delusional and I see the schizophrenia, but upon talking to one of his friends about his history before I knew him sounds very much like bipolar. Idk, I just want to help him

People say it’s one in 200 that develop it there’s NO WAY this is an incredibly rare and unique diagnosis

I remember yelling at the psychiatrist about the diagnosis and ask them why can’t I fall asleep all the time? It’s not episodic it’s literally all the time, like inverted Kliene Levine syndrome. Where’s that in your stupid book, and why aren’t you treating the agrypinia excitica? They said they didn’t know why, or the one who did said i misremembered got fired. The sleep deprivation lead to the “mania” and then the psychosis. If doctors don’t know what’s wrong they call you crazy.

So what is the difference between schizoaffective disorder and having co-morbid schizophrenia and depression or bipolar, seperately?

It seems difficult to distinguish from bipolar 1 with psychosis. I guess the difference is whether someone has psychosis on it's own, vs only having it _during_ mania or extreme depression. Either way, treatment seems similar.
