Mom Takes Her 5-Year-Old Son to Hooters for His Birthday

A mother who threw her 5-year-old son’s birthday party at a Hooters is speaking out against the backlash she has received, saying the criticism is unwarranted. Zander’s mother, Darby, posted a video of him receiving a special birthday serenade by waitresses wearing the restaurant chain’s signature uniform on TikTok, where she was lambasted. But Darby said the blowback was unwarranted. "It's not a big deal really. We took our son there and we had lunch,” she tells Inside Edition.

Lol, my cousin used to be obsessed with owls, so when he was like 8, whenever they drove past the Hooters near their house, he'd always ask my aunt why he couldn't go to the owl restaurant.
When she finally explained it to him, he screamed "EWWW, WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT!?"

I literally went to Hooter’s for my birthday every year from the age of 5 to either 11 or 12. There is nothing wrong with this. Believe it or not, they used to have REALLY good wings.

As some one who has taken my them five year old daughter to hooter for her birthday before... the ladies pulled out all the stops for her, and they made it such a wonderful birthday!! They even brought out a personalized cake for her, she had so much fun and the girls just made it an entirely special day, people need to get over themselves, those girls work so hard and deserve better!!

My parents took us to Hooters for lunch or dinner sometimes. It’s a restaurant. You can see anyone at anytime wearing an outfit similar to the uniform at hooters. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hooters has been doing children's birthdays for a long time.
They dress the kid up as an owl and the kids have a blast.
I've only been to a Hooters three times, but I've seen a birthday celebrated each time. Outrage is completely out of proportion.
