How come The Italians deposed their monarchy after the war, despite the war not being their monarchy's fault, whilst The Japanese didn't overthrow their monarchy after the war, despite the fact that their monarchy played a significant role in the war?

Wasn't overthrown btw. The infamous picture of Emperor being disrespected and then having their governance changed to a democratic servile state to the US. Totally wasn't overthrown the same way the USSR did to communize.
