Lorentz Invariance EXPLAINED -- Sean Carroll's Twisted Universe! Chern-Simons Birefringence & Planck

#LorentzInvariance #SeanCarroll #ChernSimons I had a fascinating conversation about Lorentz Invariance with Prof Sean Carroll (Caltech) about a claimed extraction of 'cosmic birefringence' in Planck 2018 data. This would be a harbinger of Lorentz and parity violation -- no-nos in modern physics!

Ben Davidson from suspicious observers would be a great guest. The community needs an interviewer of your caliber,
Keep up your great work

Btw, you should read about dynamical parity violation. Search for magnetic phases for spin networks (not completely sure about the last word, its a 2020 paper). Its about dissipative and driven spin chains and ansambles and stuff. The paper contains a theoretical discovery of a new kind of phase for non equilibrium spin statistics. It cool check it out

Something that’s always bothered me....if the universe is expanding, logically that would mean “new” space is being created....if everything is energy (assumption:: there is something present, even in a vacuum) ...wouldn’t this then mean that there is energy being created? If so, where would it come from? Why should we ever assume balance or symmetry? Perhaps I should have said “information” and not energy, but either way if they’re not one in the same, I still sense an imbalance.

The rabbit hole of non equilibrium systems goes much deeper tho.

For those of us who have Echo devices please don't say "Hey Alexa" over and over.

Pretty much all we see out there rotates around some local center of mass, yet suddenly the whole Universe does not rotate around its center of mass. Could be, but sounds very unlikely, therefore I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is a center of the Universe somewhere, rather than agreeing with the current mainstream saying there is no center.

I didn't buy the idea of anything being infinite in the physical world, not even the Universe. We are here, therefore nothingness does not exist, and this implies infinite does not exist either. So far I see no evidence of either zero or infinite in the physical world (the absence of something is not the same as zero of something), it seems zero and infinite are imaginary constructs only.

This also means there must be a top speed, and also there can not be a complete stay still as in absolute zero temperature, etc.

obey the law as Einstein would say haha

If you have a bulge on a large sheet of paper, you dont point towards the top and say hey thats the center :p
