Power BI Slicer with Search Box, Drop Down List & Select All Options to Filter your PBI Report (NEW)

An updated video on how to make search box appear in the slicer drop down list - since there has been a change in Power BI settings due to recent upgrade.

Search box missing from Slicer in Power BI Desktop - what to do?? how do we make it reappear??
That's one of the most frequently asked questions recently...
Whilst I have previously created a video on Slicer... due to power bi upgrade, the settings have changed.

That's why I have decided to create a new video... to help everyone make the super useful search box appear on top of the slicer.

I have also decided to include other useful tips, e.g.
- how to turn your slicer to a nice drop down list
- how to enable multiple selection
- how to add select all option

I am a licensed CPA, and i switched to power BI from Google Data Studio. My senior Manager was bugging me about using power BI. I am not a fan of Power Bi due to limited controls and UI, as google data studio provide user friendly interface and easy to add visuals and filtering and drill downs. So i gave it a try and was stuck at this for a week. and By God, her video made me feel like a baby. like how a fresh intern feels after learning from seniors. Just one simple click and voila.

Also I Think, instead of paying hundreds of dollars to learn power Bi i think if, just if people watch your videos with consistence they can learn more and save more.

Thank you for the video, I tried for ages to work out how to add the search to my slider - who knew it was staring me in the face this whole time lol. FYI - the multi select option is actually "multi-select with ctrl", when this option is enabled it means you must hold ctrl to select multiple options. If deselected you can still select multiple options, but you don't have to use the ctrl key. It is the single select option that toggles between you being able to select multiple values or not.

Do you know whether it's possible to select multiple values by using this search function? Currently when I try to select multiple values, by using the search, it deselects my first selection!

Thank you for the clear explanation. I have created the filters using slicers. I can execute the filter. How to view the report (Report run mode, I want to see the report only (no tools options required). I am using Power Bi Desktop, Pls assist in simple steps. I am new to Power Bi. Thanks again.
