Well we are in trouble when it comes to reliability, everything is junk now.

Toyota is basically overrated for the asking price. Used prices are prohibited and point to other select models of other vehicles that are newer and more depreciated.

Toyota/ Lexus and most other Japanese manufacturers are still more reliable than any American car brand.

That's good. Toyota needed to be knocked down a notch or two. They were getting WAY too big for their britches. With various fees, worthless dealer "add-ons", destination and dock charges etc, etc, they tried to charge me $5k over the invoice. This included $80 for the air in the tires! When I told them to stuff it and walked away, they just laughed and said that if I didn't want to pay it, the next guy would. I don't think I will ever buy another Toyota.

Faking crash testing is unforgivable. They will probably under class action lawsuits over this. Also when someone gets killed or severely injured in one of these vehicles, they are going to end up paying serious coin in the courts.

My 2008 crown Victoria with 162, 000 miles doesn’t burn a drop of oil. It’s crazy that now burning up to 1 quart per 1000 miles is considered normal.

As far as what's on the market right now. I'm a big fan of what Mazda is doing amongst the Japanese brands.

Just my 2 cents. All of this turbo craze by manufacturers is in response to the EPA and CAFE needs for mpg and meeting government regulations.

Honda has finally started to pull back on the turbo engines, see the 2025 Honda Civic.

Toyota is still better than most, but they are definitely not as good as the older ones! And with the way things are going I see more problems from them, and all the other manufactures too.

I purchased my first Mazda in early 2022 after a poor & problematic 2020 model year Toyota ownership experience that lasted only around 2 years & 10K miles before I decided to ditch it. I purchased/drove nothing but Honda & Toyota before that dating back to 1982 & 10 different new vehicles during that time, & feel that neither Toyota or Honda today has the dedication to build quality that they once had.

And that’s why I try to buy cheap. No high tech crap. The simple the better

The days of getting 200K miles plus are over.

Had a brand new 2016 Toyota Corolla that had issues within the first 20k miles. Car was at the dealership for 4 months. Generally however i agree toyotas are very reliable especially older ones but did put a bad taste in my mouth considering that car didnt do anything good, but come 2020 and working as a tech for toyota, i knew quality was going downhill and so was reliablity. We have so many new toyotas coming in with fuel injector issues, fuel pump issues, bypass valve issues, brake rotors warping within 10k miles, infotainment screens not working etc etc. Not to mention a decent amount blown engines and transmissions below 100k miles. Best bet if you want to own a reliable long lasting vehicle is to just buy a used toyota, lexus or a used bmw non turbo inline 6. Parts are cheaper by miles on some of these older cars.

They are not customer focused any more either and their vehicles are expensive in comparison with competitors.
Fallen behind in customer satisfaction and product reliability, just not worth the money.

I have a highlander 2019 with no issues at all, love my 6cyl with no turbos. I wouldnt change my highlander for the newest model, too many issues and complaints with new engines and technology

I have a 2010 camry v6. I was installing a stereo system and when taking the interior apart I noticed that interior parts and build quality was very good! I'm going to try and hold on to her as long as I can. They don't make'um like they use to!

Agree 💯🤦‍♂️, I’ll keep longer my ‘13 Camry XLE, only REAL problem ? the VVT-i cam gear rattling and I’m working on it right now, no leaks, no burning oil, no transmission shuddering, just regular maintenance 😃
