The Toyota Camry could be called one of the most rational and reliable vehicles ever made. While Toyota and its passenger cars do have a reputation for being rather bland, it appears that quite a few people do want to own one.

In 2019, the Camry was the best-selling passenger car in the United States. However, sedans like the Camry seem to be steadily vanishing from roads in the U.S. and other markets around the world.

American strategy : Let's make the cars break often so the buyers spend every dimes they got to fix it.
Japanese strategy : Let's put our heart and soul into our cars and make it last 30 years so that one happy buyer will tell 100 other buyers to buy our cars.
Nuff said.

Most taxis in Dubai are Camry. A taxi driver once told me, the taxi company keeps Camry until up to 500k kilometers and sell them to different african countries where they use them again as taxis for another 500k or so kilometers. Amazing

It’s safe and reliable. It’s almost like a store-brand car. You don’t get it for the looks or because you care about the brand - you get it because it just works.

I don’t think it’s an unattractive car. Reliability has its own beauty.

Camry a boring car? What’s boring is waiting at the dealer for a stupid electrical problem to be resolved.

Let's face it, if you made low cost high quality reliable and affordable vehicle then nobody cares how bland it's design is.

I hope Toyota never stops making the Camry. I have a 2015 XSE V6 and in the future I’m hoping on switching to a new XSE V6 just because I love the camry so much.
