I love audiobooks because:
- I don't get tired eyes
- the multitasking aspect Stephen talks about, I listen to them whilst grocery shopping
- I can listen to them before bed and it helps create a world in my head to fall asleep quickly, otherwise my mind starts wandering off way too much and I fall asleep at 2AM
- I can listen to the audio whilst reading the book to get me through challenging or boring chapters, or just to keep focus.

The original dramatized narration of The Stand from back in the late 80s or early 90s is still my favorite audiobook of all time. I still revisit it from time to time.

I usually don't get the time anymore to read for long lengths of time uninterrupted. I started hearing audio books and was very skeptical in the beginning but I have been won over. I have listened to all types and genre and a good narration can take you places while you are multitasking the mundane in your life.

I started to listen to audio books when I was 12 or 13 Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King soon after I had to listen to his whole back catalogue. I now listen to many different types of books and many authors and I feel so lucky to have this connection to so many great stories. I love to listen to books while exercising.

I LOVE audiobooks. Like Stephen said, you can do what you do, (housework) and still be entertained. And losing yourself in a story as you clean makes the whole chore almost effortless.

My guess is he did this interview at his summer home in Florida; on his walk you see the palm trees and the sunny weather. The look of the kitchen and dining area behind him has a holiday home kind of look.

Audio books are also great for people with dyslexia or ADHD who can't read a full novel.

I've always loved being read to so I can close my eyes and let the reader take me into the story. The narrator is very important for the drama, the emotion and atmosphere. 😊
