Russian and Ukrainian officials began talks in Gomel, Belarus, on February 28, 2022, four days after Russia invaded Ukraine. Delegations from both sides expressed the possibility of a second round of talks soon.

If Ukriane join Nato, there would be more conflict in the future, as Nato tried to restrict Russia. And more chaos in the area, as both side tries to build up militaries and arm powers.

It seems crazy that Volodymyr signed the request to join EU. They shouldn't have done that if they want Russia to cease fire as it is one of triggers. Very dangerous move after the negotiation meeting.
