There was a time I was afraid to write any Star Wars Fan fictions. I felt like the writers, including EU writers had that covered. Treated the canon, characters, and arc all sacredly.

I don't expect Harrison Ford to speak up about Indian Jones's is treatment. I always got the sense that all he cares about is the paycheck and considers himself a top tier movie star and resents being so associated with pop culture characters. That interview clip where someone asks him "did Han shoot first" he chuckles and says "I don't care". I believe him, he does not care at all how his characters are seen once the check is cashed.

I think just about everyone thought that Luke would have become the wise Jedi teacher to bring the teachings to the next generation. Not the garbage that Disney did to his character.

The real crime here is not a big stinker bomb of a movie or show we can just ignore and pretend doesn't exist. The real crime is that in many cases, this is the last time we can hope to get stars like Harrison Ford, Leonard Nimoy, Carrie Fisher and Warwick Davis among others to saddle up and reprise roles. They can be recast or perhaps video faked, but the precious, unrecoverable chance for a final authentic performance has been lost. That I can neither forgive nor forget.

I’ll always appreciate the job Hamill did as Luke, he was a part of something that effected my life, for the better. But to be honest between Disney decisions and Hamills personal comments Luke left the building a while back. R.I.P. Luke Skywalker MTFBWY always.

To be fair, if Mark Hamill is doing a "peace out", he is leaving on a high note with Mando Season 2 Finale.

Considering how dirty Luke was done in the final trilogy, you would have thought that Luke had personally attacked Kennedy by striking down her grandfather, blew up her home twice, b-slapped her personal assistant and Luke's father more than a couple of times, bypass all of her personal security, and all the while still trying to figure out what the "force" was.

Mark’s work has been such a profound part of my life. As a child, I fell in love with the character of Luke and have loved him ever since. The lesson that Luke’s greatest power was not his strength or force use but his heart and compassion has always stuck with me.

I’ll never understand the decisions they made with Luke but for the sake of being positive for this comment, thank you for bringing our hero to life, Mark.

Seeing the interviews with Mark Hamil during the TLJ hype train was honestly painful...
I had no interest or expectations of the sequels since the prequels had already killed Star Wars for me years earlier but seeing such a legend so beaten down and depressed was just hard to watch regardless...

I grew up with the originals and for that I will always love Luke, and pretty much all of Hamill's work, but the awful, hateful things he says on social media broke my heart. I loved that dude, and every chance he gets, he reminds everyone how much he HATES half the country, me included. To me Luke didn't die. Mark Hamill killed him with hate.
