One thing that is hardly mentioned is where is the electricity coming from to charge the EV batteries. The current infrastructure in the USA won't be able to handle the demand.

The replacement batteries being expensive is the killer. It eliminates people on budgets keeping their beaters running after the first decade. It also effectively keeps poor people from owning cars and makes them more dependant, which is probably a reason for pushing EVs in the first place.
