people are waiting for the price to drop. As more electric cars are made, prices will get competitive and therefore more affordable

Electricity won’t be so cheap when it starts getting taxed at the charging station to make up fewer gas refill sales

Why people keep saying electricity getting cheaper meanwhile my local company raising their rate every year?

Lets see - $25k for entry level gas car, $40k for entry level electric. Unless you can get a 250 mile electric for 25k good luck.

The big problem is most people still feel you only get 100 miles of range and it takes 10 to 15 hours to charge.

If you are able to afford a 50k Tesla 3 AWD. You have an 270 to 330 mile range. You can charge from 5% to 70% in just over 20 minutes at a Tesla Supercharger. Or 15 miles to 210 miles of range. Faster chargers are coming that will take almost half that time. That's right you do not have to charge from empty to full. On long trips it is better to charge 65 to 80% of capacity. Plug in at night after a days commute and you may almost never need to supercharge.

Gm and Hyundai products charge fairly quickly are extremely reliable and until recently we're far more affordable than Teslas.

How do you charge it overnight if you live in an apartment building. The parking spots do not have the infrastructure to chaege EVs.

Price. Range anxiety. Track record short. Need more fast chargers.

People are very uneducated in this area. They still ask me what happens when my Prius runs out of charge.

Like other comments, too expensive. I can get a bigger car for half the price of a small EV, use for 8 years and still save 20%-30% over time. It makes no sense. Do I love EVs? YES, can I afford one? YES. Does it make financial sense? NO WAY

There are wait lists for almost all EVs. People want top buy them. There just is not enough being manufactured.

Rural areas with no chargers and the massive country we live in with mostly rural cars aren't quite there to meet rural Canadian needs

Honestly, I'm just waiting for the prices to drop below 20, 000 at least and I'll be all for buying electric. Most middle class Americans can't afford a $600 car payment every month. I'll deal with gas powered cars until then.

I would buy one tomorrow if I was able to charge it at my condo. The whole parking lot would have to be wired. Mine is a typical 50 year old building with about 230 units. No indication it will happen anytime soon. Apartment dwellers can't really own electric until there is a big conversion and wiring movement in the bigger and taller multi-unit buildings.

It's a fact that the tax incentives for EVs are going to disappear when the mass population is able to afford one.

Driving an electric car is just great. No noise, no vibration, no manual- no automatic gearbox, no shifting gears, no clutch, brake pads will probably last for a whole lifetime of the car. The car mechanic told me, my brake pads are still 90% after 60.000 km driving.
My main reason of buying an electric car was to safe money and it works just

Why I'm not buying an EV?
1: price
2: I rent so I have nowhere to plug it in at home.
3: Range/lack of infrastructure.

Currently driving a plug in hybrid Ford Fusion but hoping my next car is a Tesla Model Y or X.

You are not talking about "who killed the electric cars " documentary. That's why electric cars never took off, because of the oil companies that did everything they could to kill it in the 50's or something.
