9-Foot Tall, 300 Year Old Anthill Discovered

A 91-year-old Swedish man hunting in the forest made an unexpected discovery: an enormous ant colony. He discovered an anthill that’s more than 9-feet tall and researchers say it’s home to around 300,000 ants. Scientists say ants go for the height because the higher they build, the more sun the hive will catch, and the more warm and cozy it will be inside for the colony. Inside Edition Digital has more.

So no one is talking about a 91 year old man is out in the forest hunting at his age?! That’s impressive.

"This 91 year old could hardly believe his eyes..." 91 years old and still out in the woods living life and seeing new things for the very first time. Good for him!

Props to the person who stayed around to let us know how old it is.

This ant hill is older than some countries, that means that it literally has more history than countries like America, like there could've been an ant civil war, or maybe a revolution during it's 300 year history, so I propose that we consider this ant hill a country

The ant hill grew so big because every time some kid tried to kick it over, half a million ants swarm out and drag the child underground. They're getting lots of protein.

This Ant Hill has been around *longer* than the *entire history* of the United States of America...

isn’t it crazy that it’s 9 feet off the ground but there is still more under the dirt?

Imagine falling into that ant hill. That would be horrifying.

I didn’t realize that nests get reused from queen to queen... thought they always started from scratch. Very cool!

Imagine the history behind this ant hill, from a single queen to this Goliath of a colony. Who knows how many crazy things like this go undiscovered for centuries

Hopefully nobody is not gonna destroy that masterpiece

It’s 100% possible that it’s been the “same” ant colony this whole time

Imagine how many of these were lost during the clearcutting of many of earth’s natural wildernesses.

Imagine a world where humans could work together like ants.

I’m glad they didn’t tell the exact location. Otherwise people would come by and destroy it

This would be pretty good prequel for A Bug's Life.
