I Design a Custom 3D Printed Gauge Bezel!

With the engine bay complete, I set my full attention on the cockpit and front-end of Project Top Gun. In this episode I design a custom gauge bezel for my Motec C127 digital display and 3D print it. I also start drilling a bunch of holes in the front bulkhead in preparation for final assembly. Things are moving pretty quickly now and I'm excited to show you my progress. Enjoy Episode-44!

Dang, I’ve really been watching you build this thing for 2 years?!?!! Looking forward to seeing you enjoy it Dan. Great work as always

Maybe leather for the roll bars? I don't think alcantara would hold up very well getting in and out, plus the oils from your hands and clothes. Keep up the great work!

For those side areas where you need to climb over I would recommend a harder flooring type of vinyl or leather like material or a marine or kitchen carpet or some heavy patterned rubber as used in truck beds.
Basically you want something that will tolerate abuse as those areas very quickly accumulate scratches stains and other damage. You also want them a bit slippery so as not to grab clothing and skin if someone sits on them to climb in and out.

In my opinion, this is one of the coolest builds on YouTube!

Nothing but admiration. Nice to see you still have the Supra.

Always good to see your smiling face. The build is crazy fun. Today I am making an appointment with the Dyno guy. I have never had any success with getting my rig-nuts to expand like yours did.

God I love this project! I appreciate this so much more than the other YouTube builds that get thrown together in 2 weeks and you just know that there's so many problems with them that they're not showing! Dan, you are doing it right! Taking your time and making sure everything is good! Has to be the coolest build on YouTube!

Great work Dan. I would just change the position of the battery posts. Positive where you have the negative and vice versa. It's just because that positive looks to be very close to the chassis and it will be very easy to produce some fat sparks when you attach battery jump cables.

Dan, I really admire the standard of your work on the car, the thought that you put into the build, and the quality of your videos. Did you consider angling the monitor towards the driver?

Awesome work as usual! Getting close to end, keep going!!!💪💪
One thing, think the fixings for the carbon cover plates need to be black, the bright silver just aren’t stealth enough for my liking 😂😂

Great progress Dan! Coming from a guy that subsequently ripped all his sound deadener in his GTM, whenever you get to laying carpet on the floor, use MLV, a decoupler, and sound deadener. Will stop a lot of annoying road noise. Little extra effort (and weight) made my car much more comfortable. I used second skin stuff.

Love how the gauge pod came out! Does the motec PDM monitor for low voltage to prevent an over discharge when sitting? I have an In Reserve active battery management system with my infinity box canbus and glad I installed. Not sure if Motec has something similar.

Coming a long and it looks sick! (jmho im not feeling the gauge housing, leaning towards a modern look like wide ipad like type display would look sleek and modern ie mercedes project one or the aston martin valkyrie)

Love this build, been following since the beginning. Not sure how close the brake line is to the steering shaft, as in the video it looks really close especially once you turn the steering wheel. I would hate to see that brake line rub through. Cheers
