Everyone saying "Did you forget Caraxes!?!?" No... In the books the Black's had to constantly alter their plans if Vhagar was coming. Even daemon knew in an open battle Vhagar is unbeatable. The blacks have more, sure, but the risk is sending two dragon's against the largest and most battle hardened dragon in the world. She's the only dragon with centuries of experience in war, and even if they beat her, the risk was they'd loose their biggest assets.
And for all the Daemon stans, remember the only way he was able to beat Vhagar and Aemond was with a suicide attack. He knew going against Vhagar was going to get both him and caraxes killed
