The fact that we get this excited for something tuberculosis related really is a testament of our hard work, DFTBA!

Fun fact: a key driving force behind that campaign to use chest x-rays to screen for tuberculosis was Alan Hart, who was also one of the first trans men to undergo gender affirmation surgery in the United States.

Your comments on Emily Dickenson and TB have really reshaped the way i view her work.

It makes me sad that the version of her that I was introduced to in school was able-bodied, but geez just such such a mysterious recluse for no reason. It makes me wonder how much discomfort and disease was (is?) hidden away in the version of history provided to public school children.

Time out, did I hear 4:15 right?? Maternal mortality since 2019 in Sierra Leone has dropped by half?? Holy smokes!! That's amazing!

Looking forward to doing the same to TB over the next 5 years and beyond. Long term problems require long term solutions <3

John caught a new hyper fixation once and proceeded to change the world and its entire health care system. You’re the best, John. Best of luck in DC!

Good luck in DC John!
I hope you don’t run into any overly friendly squirrels!

This right here - Every $1 invested in TB care and prevention generates $43 in economic benefit.
That's a stunning and exciting and inspiring statistic! What's that thing the kids say? Take my money? Yeah. That.

It’s incredible (and incredibly sad) that 40% of TB cases go undiagnosed each year. I’m so grateful to Nerdfighteria for putting the “urgent” in urgent action! Good luck in DC John!

The statistic about maternal mortality dropping by half since 2019 is mind boggling. John you have so many things to be proud about, but your impact is truly tremendous and you should feel very proud

It's so easy to get lost in all of the many many injustices in the world that all demand attention and then feel bad that we're not doing enough. This is a very refreshing reminder of the power of focused, long-term activism.

"Since 2019 maternal mortality in Sierra Leone has dropped by half"
When you said that my jaw literally dropped. That's an incredible stat and speaks to the amazing work that you, Hank, and so many others have done to help in that fight

As a recovered case, thank you for this work. TB isnt fun, and shouldnt be as hard to find or expensive to treat as it was.

Working on this TB campaign with such amazing people has been one of the most important things I’ve been involved in. I feel lucky to be able to contribute even if it’s just in a minor way

This is extremely refreshing. Progress-based, logical, unbiased, and pragmatic. We need more John Greens in power making decisions for our society, not the ideologues we’ve got now.

Hey John! I was the sports editor who wrote the TB article at UMass Boston, sucks we weren’t able to converse but it would’ve 100 percent been an insightful conversation, gonna sign up for the newsletter and can’t wait to read your new book!
