Excel How To Sort PIVOTBY Reports Descending by Amount

This video shows how to use the row_sort_order argument of the PIVOTBY function to sort the summary report descending by the amount column.

We will warm up by building a PivotTable to understand the report format. Then, we'll replicate the PivotTable with the PIVOTBY function. Finally, we'll use the row_sort_order argument to control the sort order by column (ascending or descending).

We will proceed in this order:
- PivotTable
- PIVOTBY
- row_sort_order argument

Note: the PIVOTBY function is not available in all versions of Excel.
