I know it’s not as many as the other games, but “only 6.39 million sold” goes to show how big the franchise is

Suicune is my favorite of the beast trio, I love how graceful it is.

All the “definitive” mainline games like emerald, crystal, and yellow would be really cool to have just because they’re the combination of their generation

Pokemon Crystal is my favorite! I felt very seen being able to play as a girl when I was small.

Someone like me who was a Gen 2 Pokemon Trainer, There was the only 3 Gen 2 Games at the time. Both Gold and Silver were really big and sold out so much that I never got to play them However, There was one game that I did grow up with. Which was Pokemon Crystal. I was pretty much a special trainer Bc, No one wanted to play Crystal. Every Trainer I met as a Kid were playing Gold or Silver.

So, My First Pokemon Game was Pokemon Crystal

I think the core issue with Pokemon Crystal came down to the marketing. I can't speak for the rest of the nation but around here in my state Rhode Island, there was almost no advertisement for this game like there was for Pokemon Gold and Silver. I only knew about the game when I saw it sitting on a shelf inside Funkoland and even then, the Clerk had no idea what the differences were. None of my friends had a copy of the game either, there was no internet for us to look that up or magazines around us to explain it either. It actually wasn't until I was in college many years later that I saw somebody on YouTube playing the game when I remembered it. I ultimately bought a copy back in 2017. Having an added story about Suicune along with the animations for the sprites are fun changes but I don't think it would have been a significant enough sell to buy the game if you already had either of the other versions first back in the day. Of course now I play Crystal Clear on my KTR1 and that is about a whole brand new level of joy to a little pockets of free time I have in a day.

Most people overlooked Crystal cuz back then people didn't really care for a slightly improved experience over the other two games.

I loved Pokémon rumble, it’s one of my most nostalgic games that I had in the wii, I only had the demo but me and my brother had so much fun playing it anyway

The third version always tends to sell lower. Since gold and silver are the third highest selling games in the series, it’s likely that everyone already had those two and didn’t feel the need to buy crystal
