Horizontal type tool: T

✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
To add an outline to a text object, first create a text object with the Horizontal Type Tool (T). Next add the layer style effect called "Stroke". From here you can customize the color, size and opacity of your outline. To make the rest of the text object transparent, simply ensure you have the correct layer selected and then set the "Fill" of that layer to 0.

What is the difference between opacity and fill in Adobe Photoshop?

This was SO helpful!! One detail I noticed after re-watching (and having issues) was to make sure that under the stroke option, 'outside' is clicked for the position. Mine was auto-set to inside. Once I figured that out, it worked!! Thank you!!!!
