I love that there's pretty much an adapter for anything.

The monitor brings me humble vibes. I was the only person I ever met to have the portable PlayStation 1 and I would take that across the street to the park when I was A kid and it was the future at the time (2003)

The excitement, the joy, the gripping edge of the seat tension. Better than a Chris Nolan film and I'm in for the long haul.

If Brett were to put enough Risercables in his hair, he would look like Steve from Gamers Nexus.

I smell a collaboration with linus with a honeybadger nvme ssd

As soon as the external PSU came into use, I wondered it would work without problems or strange behaviors like failed formatting, because of possible missing common ground signal.
Digital communication is based on binary signals. For that on the traces, lanes and wires the binary 0s and 1s must be clear enough to be surely recognizable. To make them clear enough, the whole system in itself needs a common ground (= 0V). So with introducing the external PSU and connecting it to the adapters, I am not sure if the ground signal from the PSU is connected to the ground signal of the PS5 through the adapters. To be sure you would have to put a wire from a 0V lane of the connector of the PSU to any 0V point inside of the PS5.

Back in my day, console mods outside of hacking were like "do this controller have mostly functional buttons?"

Wasn't that interested in seeing content specific to this subject, however, seeing Brett childishly screaming out of joy made my day. Well spent 17 minutes of my life :)
Thank you, Brett! :)

I think the issue is the available number of pci-e lanes coming from the PS5. An M.2 slot only has a max of x4 so you would need to find a M.2 raid card that could take x16 lanes worth of SSD's and get that talking over the x4 link into the PS5.

That is why port 1 of the Gigabyte card still functioned, but also why the WD black drive would light up but not present itself because it didn't have the full x8 link.

Bret: "Can we get 5K likes?"
Fans: "Hmn... How about over double that in one day?"

I think there is interest! :D

Caveat Emptor: I'm not sure which Highpoint RAID card you're looking at, but I just set the SSD7505 up on Win10 (Test platform) & Win2016 Server (production) & that card DOES require drivers for RAID functionality. It Provides UEFI drivers during boot, and it Requires Windows or Linux drivers for the OS to see the RAID volume, otherwise it just sees JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) drives. Hope this helps!

As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This disc will self-destruct in ten seconds. Good luck.

You need a PCIe 4.0 card with a PCIe Switch (PLX Chio).
That card is only an adaptor that requires the Slot to be x4x4x4x4

Heads up on that hardware raid card! Hardware raid cards still have to be configured and without a keyboard connected and without a bios that supports it, not sure it will work.
Would be awesome if it does, just wanted to offer info as a potential reason as to why if it doesn’t.
