The Sony Bravia 7 TV, while overshadowed by the flashier Bravia 9, is still a noteworthy option, especially for those seeking an affordable Sony mini-LED TV. We break down the pros and cons in this detailed review. The Bravia 7 is easy to set up, boasts excellent color accuracy, brightness, and motion handling, making it a superb choice for dedicated entertainment spaces. However, its poor off-angle viewing and reflection handling limit its recommendation for average living rooms. Overall, the Bravia 7 is a great TV for home theater enthusiasts but may not suit everyone’s needs.

I just bought a 65” Bravia 7 to replace an x900e that died. Bought it for a bright living room! I have a window directly adjacent to the TV. I would say reflections are about the same as the x900 and I don’t sit off axis so viewing angles weren’t a problem for us.

I absolutely hate the rainbow effect from other TVs that have aggressive antiglare coatings. I prefer this finish to that even if it means brighter reflections over all.

I’m happy with it so far. Works for us. Feels like a new and improved x900e.

I got the tv in august in a 75” for my living room. I can control the lighting really well in my situation, however do not think the light reflection is that bay (maybe it’s just in my living room situation). This is my first “good” tv and I love everything about it!

I’ve had the 7 for a month. It’s amazing. It’s in a small room that can be light-controlled, so off angle viewing and reflections aren’t a problem for me. I’d agree that it probably isn’t great for a bright living room.

Finally, the Bravia 7 review! The cons you brought up about the viewing angle performance and the reflection handling were echoed by RTINGS in their review as well. I still plan on saving up for this TV since I live in a house where I have a fairly small bedroom, so I don't plan to look off center at all and I have blinds over the one window in my room.

Sorry but comparing Bravia 7 with x90l is a bit unfair. I bought an x90l 75 inch las year and paid 2000 Canadian dollars (plus taxes). This year the 65 inch Bravia 7 costs 2300 and the 75 inch Bravia 7 is 3000. So Bravia 7 is more comparable with x93l or x95l. I have no regrets buying my x90l. Great tv, excellent value for the price.

I just got the 65 Inch for around $1, 500 on sale. At that price it is more than worth it to me. I have a dedicated space with blackout curtains. I would agree about the reflection issues which is why it is helpful to have some ambient lighting control as you mentioned. I do not notice the off-angle issues because I sit mostly in the center and my space is small so not an issue. The picture quality though is amazing, best I have ever seen in a TV I owned. I care more about content accuracy than anything else, so Sony was my choice. I have created content and went through the exhausting process of how it looks. Things like the EQ POTF performance are a big deal to me and this TV sits at the top of the list of all good TVs.

Looking to score an 85" on sale Black Friday. I have seen this TV in stores and checked the side viewing due to the Rtings review. I didn't think it was a deal breaker. This is also going in a dark basement HT room, so I guess another plus for me. Thanks for the awesome review!

I’ve had this TV for almost 2 months and it’s been amazing…AFTER I changed most of the settings you actually mentioned. The picture was so dim when I unboxed it I legit thought I had a defective unit! Luckily, after some tweaks I’ve had no complaints, but your point about the reflection issues is something I have also noticed.

The biggest gripe people reviewing it seem to have is the poor off-angle viewing. I have a rather wide living room, with a sectional and lazy boy stretching across it…no issues with viewing angles no matter how far out on the perimeter I sit, so not sure about the legitimacy of that compliant. Otherwise, great video and appreciate viewing seeing a review for the Bravia 7 on YouTube!

Great job Caleb !!! Love you channel. I’m considering the Bravia 7. I’m wondering if you provide your settings on your display reviews ?

A very fair & thorough review IMHO. I agree with Caleb, Sony should’ve implemented their wide angle filter in this model. If they had, it would be a much more attractive set for most folks.

X85K owner here.. It's the best tv I've ever owned. Coming from a 2010 LG 43 inch model that is starting to lose its backlight.

I got it on sale at costco a couple weeks ago and i really like it, luckily im almost always sitting dead on (even though the off angle is pretty bad) and I have no lights and only a little glare some times of the day so it is just excellent and has good deep blacks and color. I was playing dead space on ps5 and with the local dimming on high in game mode the dark detail, blacks, and highlights just really impressed. And movies are obviously awesome too. Im coming from an x900h and its a huge difference imo.
