It is rare that a young singer sings so far beyond her years. Her voice is exquisite, and her sense of timing and phrasing is impeccable. She combines the beet of Ella, Sarah and Carmen into her own unmistakable style. She is up for a Grammy, and I for one can’t think of a more deserving recipient.

So many young singers are working in the jazz vocal field, with varying degrees of success. Samara Joy is by far the one people will be listening to years from now.I feel Ella, Sarah, Nancy Wilson, Betty Carter, Ms. McRae all smiling and wishing Samara the best. Samara's phrasing, musicality and range are outstanding. Musically wise beyond her years. So glad she is carrying on the tradition. 💕

Samara has an immediately recognizable quality that comes along once in a generation. In the same way that Carmen MacRae or Sarah Vaughn were instantly clear from the first note, so is she. Impeccable time, tone, technique, expressive vibrato, and deep feeling.

I can hear my trombone along to this romancing Samara. Thing is, me like many, we were young once, and we hear a treasured talented voice, then the big joke is on me, I went into a different profession. Emmet you stuck with your dream, nothing better.
