Luke, I’m 42 - I have a 15 year old special needs daughter and can’t get out much. I really appreciate all of your content because that’s how I get out in the wild. I’ve watched every single one of your videos, on this channel and the quiet place over the decade+. I live vicariously through your adventures. My daughter has heart defects, 22q deletion and type one Diabetes. Your videos mean a lot to me.

You can’t beat falling asleep with rain hitting the roof of a tent.

I think his humanity is what many of us love about him. He's a regular guy who happens to be very into camping in all sorts of places for our benefit. Always look forward to his next adventure.

Man I thought I was the only one! I love storms, whether a winter storm, or a rain storm. It soothes me.

Oh, man 🥺
Every single time he gets down, puts his hand on the soil and starts talking to his dog, I get senselessly emotional. The painful knot in your throat, the sore jaw, snuffy nose, blurry eyed kind of emotional. The kind that you can't fend off, no matter how hard you try. I just imagine how it must feel to go through the motions of reaching down to give your best girl/boy a belly rub (everyones favorite) and instead of finding their soft, warm, familiar fur- running your fingers through blades of damp, cold grass. Instead of finding a pot belly to pat while you tell them how good they are- your palm landing on motionless dirt while you tell them how much they're missed 😭
You picked the best place to bury your sweet girl. She's now one with the land and mountain that you love and appreciate so much.

What makes Luke stand out is his integrity. Very rare in this world anymore

Love how Luke is basically the authority on Youtube for gear testing/usage yet he fumbles and bumbles like we all do and isn't afraid to admit it...from messing up a bumper and burning a hole in his tent to silly injuries from almost faceplanting the mud. I don't feel quite as stupid anymore when I screw up knowing even the masters have bad days🤣

The only thing more relentless than that rain is your desire to get out camping in all conditions, Luke. Wind, rain or snow…you consistently deliver the best videos. Thank you

I so enjoy watching your videos. I am a woman, and this kind of lifestyle isn't for me, but I love watching you camp. Hearing rain and thunderstorms are so soothing to me. You have a great voice for videos. I loved all of the wood friends in the background. Love hearing frogs and crickets.
We live in SC, but I grew up in Western NC and East TN. My husband retired from the Air Force, so we have been gone from there 42 years. We miss not being in TN. We hope to move back there after my husband retires in about 5 years. We just never know what life may throw at us, but we have been so blessed. God is so good, and we couldn't make it without him. If its His will we will get to move back and enjoy the rest of our time here on this earth in the mountains of TN! Stay safe and have a blessed day. Glad you didn't have issues with storm Debbie. We were blessed and the part of SC we live in didn't get hit as bad as they expected us to. So blessed and thankful!

I, too, love thunderstorms. I always hope for rain when I go camping, so I know the feeling you're talking about.

I understand what Luke mentioned about our connection to weather. I get an exciting feeling when a storm is about to hit. It’s exhilarating.

Maturing does include learning to enjoy broccoli. I’ve lived in my house on around 50 years. When I mow my yard every little bump and dip I remember the wonderful dogs buried. There’s a bunch of em. That is connection to the land.

Hey Luke, glad your back feels better and you didn't get rained out. Good for you for standing with your principles. Strength and Honor.

Most of my outdoor connection is through Boy Scouts with my oldest son. I wish I had shared this experience with my own father at his age. But, I agree 100% that connection with the outdoors is so important.

The connection to the rain for me is the rain is feeding water to the Earth, filling the soil, the aquifers and the rivers and streams. Feeding water to the plants, the animals and the ecosystem. And the sound of rain on a roof or tarp is relaxing.

That was a great howl. When I'm on the hiking trail, I've yipped. I'm a lone coyote. Lol. Thanks for your videos.
