No need to apologize for the light, definitely adds to the atmosphere.

Great video Luke ! Glad you missed the tornadoes. I love storms (blizzards, heavy rain, strong winds, but I say no to tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches, floods, earthquakes. Those are forces of nature that you cannot stand against. The best remedy is, "not be there"! I think that I've mentioned that I grew up 70 miles from Lake Superior in the far north of Wisconsin. So blizzards and powerful winds, heavy rain are all part of daily life there. I LOVE the sound of a blizzard. Puts me to sleep in no time flat. Same with high winds or heavy rain. The last 50 years have been in Colorado. You were in my back yard at Electric Pass, American Lake, Ashcroft, etc. Your trip to Mount of the Holy Cross wasn't too far away from home. Have enjoyed watching you and Suzy for the last few years. I'm glad to see her "step out" and do some solo stuff. She's great, so are you.

Unless you are doing a test review, in this weather I'd definitely be putting my tent under a tarp in this weather.. And for those who haven't tested their tents for waterproofing - then putting it under your tarp is even more important.

A tornado warning here in Alabama means a tornado has been sighted. A tornado watch means conditions are favorable to form a tornado.

As a youngster I did a lot of camping with the scouts in the mid 70's until about '80. We never had a "general shelter" like a good tarp provides. Maybe they were too heavy back then. I would never go out today without a large, good tarp.

When I saw the warnings I wondered if you were out camping. Glad you were able to stay safe!

Thanks for the close up camera shots of you tying your tarp to the trees. I appreciate it.

Thanks for tolerating the Nader warning. I love rainy weather. The sound of rain on a tarp is soothing.

Kudos to you. I prefer my warm bed and a book but enjoy watching you endure Mother Nature by choice.

Usually, tornadoes in the mountains are short-lived; however, on April 27, 2011, an ef4 tornado tore through the Great Smoky Mountains over 10 miles. This was after it began in Cherokee National Forest in Monroe county, TN. It crossed over Chilhowee Lake and entered the park and tore up the mountains. Not much info was shared about it because this is a very remote area of the park. I know about it because I live close to where it was.. love your videos!

Setting up a tarp is something that makes spending time in the outdoors a lot more fun. Could you make another video where you just go over setting up a tarp, picking a spot, etc?

Thanks for letting us know of your schedule of reviews on Sunday and Tuesday and then Thursday is the next adventure. I've been watching a few years and had no idea you have a schedule as to when reviews and adventures comes out. Great info - THANKS.

One of the better heavy rain storms on your channel.

Great example of why you need a backup plan and alternate fuel sources and food options. It’s great that you have the “cabin” retreat.

I’m watching you during a tornado watch ahead of some major storms in my camper van in PA.
Thanks Luke for another relaxing and informative video.

Wow when you mentioned this video in the community post I never expected it to get this crazy. Rain is one thing but a tornado warning is something else!

BTW, don't fret much over lighting. These new cameras all have High Dynamic Range and excellent low-light sensitivity. Instead of muddled darkness, we're seeing dramatic contrasts, all in good focus. Great stuff!

I wish you would show more on how you set up your tarp shelters. I bought the anchors and 4 elephant poles and still struggle and setting up a tarp by myself. It has been a 2 hour struggle.
