Just got a new SSD because I have like 10 GB left on my C drive (rip) and redownloaded sims to it. Followed the tutorial and downloaded a couple of CAS mods to see really quick if it worked and it did! Working like a charm! I did this and used it to move my Sims 2 CC and everything to an external harddrive, it worked perfectly! If people are doing it as you explained, they shouldn't have any issues. <3

Thank you soooo much! The first time I did it wrong and it did not work, It restarted my game and none of my mods were showing up. Since I had the EA backup like you said I tried over again the second time and it all worked perfectly! I can now play sims and go crazy with cc without worrying about running out of space on my computer! <3

So.. just in case anyone else had this issue.. for me I found I had waaayyy to many mods/cc 😂.. I ended up creating a new folder for those mods... Just so I will be able to copy and paste everything needed... Once I did that it was smooth sailing.. watched what to do to add them back in the game and boom good... I did run into the problem with it being a little slow taking a little time but once it gets started it's all good to go!! I'm just sooo thankful and happy I didn't waste money on a 4tb hard drive 😂😂 thank you so much ❤❤❤❤

YEY. After a couple attempts and tantrums it finally works!!
Make sure your Mods are updated and it seems that the game couldn‘t load my Mods folder because it was deep diving in so many subfolders. I have it right onto my external hard drive (no subfolders) and it works now I AM SO HAPPY. Thank you girl :33

HATS OFF TO YOU! I'm a gaming channel and have been looking to move my mods folder as it prohibited me from actually having all of the cc that I needed downloaded. I constantly had to switch out mods because I kept running out of space on my internal hard drive. I'm going to make some Sims CAS videos, TUHDAY!!

been struggling with this for hours and finally got it to work! each time I deleted the old sims 4 folders and opened the game all my mods and saves were gone and it would add a new sims 4 folder.. make sure you DELETE it from your computer entirely... i didn't think to delete mines from the RECYCLE BIN, so do that if u have the same issue with the game creating a new folder instead of using your junction one.
