Hey. You should try the Moco Loco/Loco Moco, its a beef patty, rice, eggs, and gravy on the top and it is soooo good imo. I had it in Honolulu but im sure its in other places.

Couple corrections sorry but I feel like I had to. First off, poi was not sacred, even in ancient Hawaiian days it was regularly eaten since kalo is a Hawaiian staple food. And poi is not fermented, it does tend to turn a little sour if you leave it out for a while though. The traditional way of making poi is by steaming the kalo or taro, then scraping off the dirty outer layer skin and using a special tool called a pohaku ku'i 'ai (a special stone sometimes wood tool used like a masher) and a papa ku'i ʻai(a special wooden board used for making poi and paʻiʻai). You would begin mashing the soft kalo and add small amounts of water in the mashing every so often, when you get a paste-like consistancy, you made paʻi ʻai, if you keep going and add more water you would be making poi.

There's this story about me and my sister when we were 1 yrs old. We were very very sick in Hawaii and the only thing us little babies could keep down was poi. I don't even remember what it tastes like but I'd love to go back to Hawaii and try it

I don’t think I’ve ever had anything fermented actually, I guess my it’s not that common within my family, but I really want to try kimchi. I’m just a little scared because I don’t really understand the fermentation process, like how does food not go bad while fermenting?

Help! I've been trying to find the short where she talks about a prepackaged mini cake of sorts in like a red box and O can't find the video. I wanted to try to buy them online so I can try them, but I can't remember what they're called and I don't remember which short is was that she mentioned them briefly before the end of the short.

Weird. Never had it in a açaí bowl before. Never thought about eating it with fruit or yogurt. Only ever eat it with meats. My favorite is always With Kalua pig and sometimes with my Laulau But I usually eat my poi Fresh or only a day old. Never had it to the point where it was sour. Weird seeing it cause it makes me feel like how am I Hawaiian and don’t know about this lmao 🤣
