Chainsaw Milling HARD Wood, Logs to Lumber!

I needed some wood to put bolt between my truck frame and my dump body, so I did it the hard way, and I cut them from logs.

My chainsaw mill is only 8.5" wide so I had to narrow the log a bit so the boards would fit through the mill. So I hacked off the sides off the log with a hewing axe that older than the trees (Not shown, but maybe next time because it also would be a great workout video! - or a good toe removal video!).

Next I nee to straighten the edges of the boards!

I don't recommend chainsaw milling hard wood with a cross cut chain as I did, your bar will heat up and your teeth will dull out prematurely.

I only used my homemade chainsaw mill once eight years ago. If I ever decide to use it again for a bigger project I will invest in a ripping chain. But I think I will eventually build a band saw mill.
