I have an idea:

Popular fantasy/legends from each era, and not just myth like Greek, Chinese or Norse, but things like Arabian Nights and those types

Here’s an idea, alternate characters for the islamic history cycle, including:
-mysterious scholar whom people don’t know much about but gave us major advances in math and science
-wife of the chad sultan who is actually a concubine, of foreign birth. She’s very beautiful and has to fight off enemies in the royal court. She has art/architecture made after her and maybe a movie. Probably fought a battle for her husband at some point
-foreign king or lineage of kings who rule a small kingdom just outside the islamic empire’s borders but spend their time trolling the empire and never get conquered
-weird sultan whose life is a controversial, disappears mysteriously and creates a new religious sect
-in more modern times, a leader who tries to make a secular country but is either too authoritarian or is replaced in a coup
-crazy general who spends his life readying up for a major victory; he either loses and spends the rest of his life malding or he wins and becomes a wazir

You can ask any Arab Muslim Veteran from WW2 and they have German WW2 Medal, its because during the early WW2, Hitler actually offer assistance toward any country under British or French Colonization, probably most of Arab and promise them help, hence many of them join the German and drive away the Colonization despite of who Adolf Hitler is.
