A Quiet Place: Day One | Movie Review

For a movie all about being quiet, it sure is loud as sh*t.

The reason she wanted to get pizza is because she was dying of cancer and it was her dad’s spot making it very special to her. She wanted to see it one more time before she died. Amazing movie great story telling

When the boy escaped and jumped of the bridge and that last monster made a jump for him like it knew where he was going

I went into this movie with the basic knowledge of the seris and no experience with the first two movies but holy crap The way they portray these creatures is frightening but also fascinating (as someone who likes biology) especially that scene * spoiler warning * where they find those egg things and the one death angel calls the others over.
But as someone who’s never watched one of these movies before 9/10 I loved it

A good choice they made for this movie is that they kept the setting as NYC. The Loudness of NYC vs alien monsters that are sensitive to sound goes hard.

The main characters were excellent actors and made the audience care about them. The cat stole the show. I didn’t like the movie ending. It felt incomplete. It was a movie where it felt like the writers were making it up as they went along.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of this one since it felt just a bit too obvious and predictable which doesn't necessarily make the film bad but if I'm able to prepare myself for the predictable jump scares and obvious story and ending it just is a bit meh. It's still a good film since it's about her trying to do what she came to New York to do for her final moments since she was terminally ill, it wasn't about surviving for her, it was about completing her journey in the way she wanted to. Which is still a unique film overall and a nice watch once but I do think the other 2 movies were better as they had more suspense/ fear factor while still having a good story.

Ngl it was good but not great. Definitely keep your expectations in check. I walked into the movie thinking damn they’re finally explaining what these creatures are, how they came into existence and what’s their motive. Instead I got a sick women who was just craving some 5 day old pizza. Regardless from a different pov it is a good movie, it does set the standards for a prequel seeing as to how we see some characters from the other movies and seeing where it originally started. 7/10

Why is noone acknowledging the fact that the jumpsacres are exactly whats wrong with this film? In the first one, the anticipation was in the silence. There was the jumpscsre when the son was killed ( which was appropriate) because that setup the audience to know what would happen if they made sound. The scariest part of the original is the silence. They needed that more here

I haven’t scene it but the review are really conflicting. It seems as if the people saying it sucked are pointing to plot, narrative, story reasons. And the people who say it was awesome point to the cinematography and acting. My belief is plot and story is king. If you’re talking about cinematography before the plot then you don’t actually know good movies… in fact that tells me you can be tricked in to thinking a movie is good.
