Hey that was an awesome icebreaker! I feel I have a very similar situation to yours as I'm in Seoul, Korea (out of New York) to pursue my dreams, and I'm giving my first ice breaker speech next week(nervous and don't know what to expect). Yours was the first one that came up in my search and man, you've set the bar! What I liked was, (not only the message about "action") but the tone was very natural sounding and "non-mechanical" like many. Good luck with everything.

You seem like a natural at it. Hearing about this organization in high school from my father as this was something he did in his late 40s at the time sounded daunting, and later through various junior college courses and collegiate clubs the public speaking was just integrated into everything and it was part of maintaining your grade/attendance, I still would like to join however, not to get over apprehension about speaking in front of people I don't yet know, but refine it and learn from others who more represent the general public albeit more distinctly apart from a college millennial setting.

This was great! I attended a toastmasters club about 12 years ago. I only attended long enough to give my first 3 scheduled speeches. I think I'll give it another go.
