1:06 = Toastmasters Icebreaker Speech begins (for those that clicked to see an example!)

Since I quit teaching, I've become a full-time mover/truck driver and given a Toastmasters Icebreaker Speech!

My overall goal now is to become a professional speaker and I think Toastmasters International is going to help get me there. I've only been a member for two weeks, but I believe the opportunity to speak in front of a live audience twice a month is going to really boost my skill gains in public speaking. My first Toastmasters speech was the Icebreaker speech and I recorded it so I could share it with all of you now! There are only a handful of Toastmaster icebreaker speech examples on YouTube so I hope my example of the Toastmasters first speech is helpful to someone else who is just starting out with Toastmasters.

Oh, yeah, and the thing I'm doing now instead of substitute teaching...

It was just a matter of time before I had to give the "family business" of moving a full-time try. I've done it for 8 of the past 14 summers and this is the first time I'll be doing it throughout the year. I've also got my Class B CDL permit as well and I'm practicing for the road test now. It's not a bad gig and will provide the income needed as I try to break into the professional speaking world!

Skip to 1:06 if you clicked only to see the Toastmasters Icebreaker Speech! I hope it's a good example of the type of speech you'll be doing at your next/first meeting!

To everyone else, yup, I'm a trucker/mover now and working on a way to break into the professional speaking scene. Maybe one day I'll be speaking at your school or at the company you're working for! Right after I move this heavy-ass dresser...

That was cool to watch, I didn’t know you’ve done all that and was nice to hear all the moving company parts. Memories. Haha. Good job with the speech overall, I was intrigued and stayed interested throughout the whole thing.

Nice job, I think you are a very good talker, and I like to hear about the school system, which I am currently working for myself as a substitute teacher. In this video we see you talk in front of people, and it was a nice speech, even though I think it went a bit too fast sometimes, and that your normal videos are better. But hey, I guess it is easier to talk alone in front of a camera than in front of an audience. Speaking from experience. Anyways, as a fellow substitute teacher, I am very interested into finding a solution to our education system, and to find out what I should be working with, now as I have also realized that school sucks and the system is outdated. The same applies here in Norway as it does in USA (USA right?). I hope we all will find the solution - which I am convinced is really easy and is already right in front of us: freedom, and voluntary school. To me life is a school in itself, and education and skills can be learned freely and naturally in thhe environment. Theres no need for a government to decide for us, and theres no need to send our kids and ourselves into the large square buildings we call schools, where we spend so much time just sitting and listening. Glad at both of us have realized this, and I wish you the best for the future. My life motto is to live a day at a time, and to do what I want to do....easier said than done of course, but finding a job that is motivating, fun and also productive for the community is a goal. Those jobs are maybe hard to get in a competitive environment, but lets just do our best...

It's a nice speech but you could have had more about school to talk and maybe bring up your channel.
