Y’all. Never do what the girl in the first story did. Stay inside. Inside where people are. Make the issue known to the bar tender or waitress. Call police or call a companion. The very LAST thing you should do is leave alone in the dark. AND then proceed to drive directly home.

Okay but lesson for everyone: DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT invite strangers on dates to your house. Meet somewhere else for the first date or two to get a feel of the type of person they are at least. You don't know if you're meeting a psycho. Be safe my dudes.

We need to stop giving murderers cool/mysterious names like “The Green River Killer” or “The Angel of Death”. We should give them embarrassing names to take away the appeal. Things like “Midget McGee” or “Bobby Dipsh*t”.

If you are going on a date with someone from the internet, here are a few tips. They may sound obvious or silly, but they’ve definitely made me and my friends feel safer and even got me out of a potentially dangerous situation.
1: meet them somewhere public, do not have them pick you up.
2: go to a well lit, popular public place.
3: do a double date, or try to have some friends or family tail you or spy on you to make sure you are safe.
4: if you can’t have friends or family be undercover chaperones, tell a waiter or someone that you’re meeting someone from tinder or wherever in case anything goes wrong.
4. Tell multiple people where you are, who you’re with, and share your location with them. Have a code word to text them if something goes wrong.

The first story, when she said she felt “relief “ wash over her when she couldn’t see him in the bar as she exited the toilet. I thought relief would be the last thing I’d feel . Because then I’d know he was outside somewhere where there’s less ppl and it’s dark. Also knew it wasn’t a very smart decision to drive home. I thought, well now he knows your address .

Friendly reminder that if you feel unsafe at a bar, ask the bartender for an angel shot. Its an almost universal code for "I need help" at a bar. Usually they'll escort you out, and prevent the creep from following you. Bartenders see a lot more than you think and will almost always know when someone is being creepy.
