story 1 is actually kinda heartwarming and sad. a killer had a change of heart due to her love and kindness

I hitched a ride in the mid 70s, and the guy spent the whole 15 minute drive telling me I shouldn't be hitch hiking, and telling me all the things he could do to me if he wanted....I'll never forget it...I was so lucky he let me out.

Driver: Where yah headed?
Hitchhiker: Im headed just up the road down by the poorly lit pit stop.
Driver: you read my mind...

Hitchhiker: 'Aren't you afraid that I'm a Killer?'
Driver: 'It is very uncommon that two killers are in one car and don't know each other...'

I live far away from my house almost 150 miles away to be closer to my university. Once upon a time I was heading back to my house for a weekend. It was 1:02am. On a dead road I so a man waving his hand with a thumb up. I hit the gas pedal and didn't stop until I arrived my house. My father whoped my ass in the morning because he was the hitchhiker.

Nikki's story: Yes, perhaps the hitchhiker was really a killer. Either that or he was a very nice guy making sure that she never ever picks up a stranger again.

Wow story number one was just wow. I'm almost glad he called her back to warn her never to put herself in that situation again.
Her non judgemental personality and genuine help to even pay for a meal actually saved her life. Too bad the man can't get the mental help he needs.

I heard that first story more than once over the years and it’s always one of the most impactful ones. Always sticks with me.

Once when I was driving I saw someone putting his thumb up and looking at me so I smiled at him and put my thumb up as well and about 5 minutes later I realized he was a hitchhiker 😂😂

I once gave a stranger a ride from college to the city where we both lived. On our way there, I told her a few horrific hitchhiking stories to try to convince her or the dangers of getting in a car with a total stranger. It didn't work. She loved spooky stories, and even told me a few of her own.

Oh well, I did my best.
