It was done that way in the movies to make a more exiting ending rather than him just falling to the ground.

I think the reason why Voldemort's body disintegrate in the movie is because it represents who he's become an empty husk.
Once all of his Horcruxes are destroyed and the killing blow lands, there's nothing holding his body together.

A theory by SCB is that the horcruxes not only tether a soul to the world of the living when ‘alive’, but will also prevent it from becoming a ghost as it will tether it to the land of the dead, like an anti-horcrux

Maybe it’s because his soul was technically destroyed when the horcruxes where destroyed so the spell just destroyed his body

I think the movie was saying that. His body and soul fragment was so fragile. That when he died his body fell apart. That body was not a normal human body. It was made with magic.

In the movies, by Voldemort essentially crumbling into ash and being blown away on the wind, it not only symbolizes that he's gone, but it also shows that the final vestiges of his being and existence are gone, scattered to the winds as the sun shines on Hogwarts once more.

Is Voldermort's spirit still tethered to the land of the living?
Answer: No
All horcruxes were destroyed, no parts of his soul can exsist without them.

I'm going to say that the reason he disintegrated in the movie. It is because there was nothing left holding him. There and his body technically was made out of a horcrix being Harry himself and with no soul left and Wormtail being the caster of the spell which created his body there was nothing holding it together the spell was broken and symbolized by the body being broken also it looked cool.

He's sould goes to Limbo and is therefore unable to go to the afterlife a fate worse than death

I'm pretty sure the movie director just wanted an awesome shot of the big bad being literally getting thano snapped out of existence,
because rule of cool

This is why the books are better. The films are great and all, but they tend to contradict things in the book just to have some cool CGI or to cut down on screen time.

Well, voldimolds body in the final bits of the films isn't his real one. Maybe the reason why is fades is due to him losing his ability to maintain it. But that's just a theory

His body at that time was magically made and he had no horcruxes left.

Voldemort created the very first "Horcrux Factory" that makes infinite horcruxes with a grain of his soul in each. Therefore he can literally never die

His body was made from magic so perhaps without his soul to power it, it crumbled

As each horocrux was destroyed, each part of his soul was destroyed. So when he lost the battle, his body and soul was destroyed. His last piece was in the other side where Harry went and saw Dumbledore, and that last part died when Harry destroyed him.

Maybe it’s because in tcc, they call the auger voldemorts greatest horecrux, it could be because with the amount of time travel that was to occur in the future, the earth was unsure weather Voldemort would be brought back or die for good and until she dies, voldemorts soul will live on in some way

Yes he and bellatrix had another Horcruxs. Maybe! So that could be had they had a kid?

My theory is that Voldemort died that way in the movie, only because producers needed a scene like. The movie launched as premium 3D experience, and making Voldy die like that made an awsome scene with the 3D debris coming out of the screen.

Nah, this theory doesn't hold up. In the books, his last killing curse rebounds and hits him, but that's not what we see in the film. If you watch, the decaying effect begins at his wand hand while both the elder wand and the wand Harry is using are connected. Then it spreads, looking similar to the curse that Dumbledore got from handling the ring horcrux. I think that the elder wand was quite simply refusing to kill it's true master, and after the destruction of his final horcrux, there just wasn't enough of voldemort's soul left in the living world to survive the reprisal from the wand. Since making a horcrux splits the soul into equal pieces and he did this on 7 distinct occasions, that meant there was only 1/128th of his soul left in his actual body and nothing to tether it after nigini was beheaded.
