Batman™: Arkham Origins is the next installment in the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight.

This was the first time in a video game I'd ever seen characters interrupting eachother in a way that sounded completely natural. It makes the scene feel so much more like a real argument. The apology immediately afterwards especially feels true to life.

This is literally the Arkham version of "I am the one who knocks!"

Kevin Conroy will always be THE Batman voice but Roger Craig Smith delivered so hard in this scene that I can't imagine anyone else doing so.

“Alfred, I am not IN danger, I AM THE DANGER”

That is fear. That is what I am. That is why they hired assassins, because I am the reason criminals breathe easier when the sun rises. So no Alfred, I am not over my head. But tonight will not be my end, but it will be theirs".

This quote alone, embodies all of what Batman is.

"Youre a young man with a trust fund and too much anger"

Batman in a nutshell.

I pity Alfred. Bruce was trained to never show fear, never hesitate and never back down from a confrontation. The boy who left never returned. In all the years Bruce was Batman, night after night this was Alfred's mindset. Put aside by the thought that Mr and Mrs Wayne would be proud.

I love seeing a younger and more brutal Batman. One who doesn’t fight to bring Gotham hope and save people but to take his anger out for what was taken from him

Always loved this scene because it shows Alfred see’s Bruce as his own Child and after what happened to his Parents in his childhood he’s afraid he’ll lose him to crime.

Such a powerful cutscene with great voice acting! One of the reasons why I love this game!

Roger Craig Smith is such an underrated Batman voice. You really feel like you're watching the same Batman Conroy voices in the other games in this series while he doesn't feel like he's directly copying Conroy.

This scene is so powerful, and it is perfect for an audition monologue

As much as I love The Batman (2022), I really wish there was a scene like this between Batman and Alfred.

some times people forget that batman had to learn lessons to become the best at what he does

That scene is awesome! It really conveys Batman's motives well, also it portrays Batman's determination, willpower, reasoning very well too, voice acting from both parties are also great.

Some of the best voice work Roger Craig Smith has done.

What I actually love about this scene is that both are right, and both are wrong in their own ways. Bruce ISN’T a hardened vigilante, right now he’s in the early years of his career and is getting too big for his britches. He IS the reason why a lot of criminals are becoming too scared to do anything, he’s is vengeance, he is the one who will punish those who hurt the innocent.

But ultimately, he IS way over his head. He almost DIES that night from being poisoned cause he thought he was so much better than anything the assassins could be. And of course, Bane figures out who he is, and almost destroys the one thing he has left. Alfred.

This game is so underrated. Having Bruce be right and wrong, allowing him to fail and learn from it, adds so much to this take on him.

Almost looks like what could happen in the Robert Pattinson Batman movie.
