Either invest in a quality hot tweezers station, or just replace the cap with a soldering iron.I never use hot air to remove and replace just a cap.Only soldering iron with the proper tip for each job.Yeah it takes a minute longer but its safer imho.

If you don't have a thermal camera then use your finger, it's a natural thermal sensor.

Bq24780s. Check regen pin. If no 6v the there a short somewhere
