Spark plug breaks car window

So today I decided to test something one of my mechanics told me about😂 He said if you break the porcelain off a spark plug and throw it at a window it should shatter... it actually did😂😂

This is how people broke into cars in NYC back in the 90s. It happened to me parents car 3 times before they decided to leave the city. Cops showed us the little piece of white ceramic with faded writing on it.
