Front-end is so easy, but in back-end you have to validate everything: Is the client requesting too often, how big the payload is, make sure that json parse won't error on post request, make sure that username is valid, make sure that password is valid, etc... Of course I didn't mention that the client could be spoofing (faking his IP address so you also have to know what is his traffic).
