The USS Gerald R Ford is the US' newest aircraft carrier, dwarfing all other active warships around the world.

Nuclear-powered, she measures 335m long and weighs 100,000 tonnes.

The US Navy said never before has such a technologically advanced ship been put to sea.

From what I can see. Doesn’t look like the Ford. Every aircraft launched was the steam system. Really this just looks like stock B roll footage because someone wants to tell a story with the usual 2 seconds frame to frame.

The ability to do landing and launches almost simultaneously is thanks to the angled deck, a Brutish development. WW2 carriers had straight decks meaning no go rounds, you had one chance to get it right. The other British invention was mirrored landing system "the ball". Fly too high the stretches vertically, too low the ball starches width wise, on slope and glidepath and you get a beautiful round ball. We Americans are grateful for a beneficial relationship with the world's oldest Navy.

It's crazy to see that we might be looking at some of the greatest heroes of WW3. I can't imagine what that pilot will have to do for his country in the years to come.
