This is a question a lot of friends and family ask me. They ask do you have morals and if so where do you get them from. And I'm a secular Humanist. And I mainly ask back where do you get your moral from and they respond with their bible. And I'll tell them how immoral the bible is.

My whole opinion of the bible is, if you wouldn't take medical advice from a book from 200 years ago, why take moral advice from a book from 2000+ years ago?

I think it's interesting that there is this preconceived notion of a moral standard. I've found that morality is subject to the circumstances of a subjective mind and are easily changed. If the two "moral standards" only differ in opinion and origin but not in practice, then I see no point in argueing about them.

Morality comes from the heart. Not from the bible. the bible may teach some morality, but the bible also teaches people to do bad things.
