The Ballad of Casey Jones

Today marks the 119th anniversary of John Luther "Casey" Jones' infamous wreck. This is my tribute to him. I hope you enjoy!

This shit happened 119 years ago, but it feels like it happened yesterday

He was a hero even before this happened. There were some kids playing on the railroad tracks one day, and when the kids realized there was a train coming they all bolted and got off the train track except one little girl who was so frightened by seeing the train coming she just froze. The train was being conducted by Jones. When Mr Jones realized that the Train could not be stopped in time to save the little girl he handed the controls over to another conductor and crawled out in front of the train and while holding on to the front of the train with one hand, and using the other to scoop the little girl up with the other right before the train could run her over. This was all done by putting great risk to himself. He was a true hero.

What historical moment to learn the legend Casey Jones. Disney made a cartoon, the brave engineer. The name I heard from, a movie called Dumbo. Casey Jr is my all time favorite train, that I'm glade they use his name after him
