I was 20 years old the first time I heard him sing. That was 45 years ago. I share him with my children and my grandchildren. Such a beautiful gift to all of us❤️❤️❤️

The melody of this great tune jumped back into my consciousness after probably 40+ years of not hearing it. What a gift Thank you Shawn !

My dad introduced me to Shawn's music when I was very little. Then I had to the privilege to see him play live in a small cafe in South Africa about 10 years ago. The memory still gives me chills.

since 1972 Shawns' music has always helped me keep my sanity, especially after getting out of the army in 1973

At 4:34, something happens. Call it what you want. He did others. Only Mr. Phillips has the power to pull such crescendos. Alive and very well. Turned 73 in jan 16 Hes got 5000 friends on facebook and is still as cool as he was. A true troubadour. Love him.

I saw him in concert in St Louis in the early 70s. Talked a couple friends into going who had never heard of him. I remember Shawn playing a double neck guitar, light shining on his hair turning it into a river of pure white while he played & sang "Bright White Light". John Meyer sitting next to me just commenting over & over, "Wow! Wow! Wow!" Happy times! Great memory...

Bought this album in London years ago and soon afterwards I heard he was playing in a small theatre in Chelsea I think - My memory of the venue is a bit erratic... But he came on and played a terrific set and subsequently I acquired another five or six albums by him....This album SECOND CONTRIBUTION and RUMPLESTILTZSKINS RESOLVE are my favourites but this song is far and away my favourite from his canon..  And Shawn has /had great hair like my good friend Greg Manson.

I have listened to this angel sing since I was 19 I’ve seen him in concert 3 times never with a band like the recordings. My children grew up listening to him on vinyl. Love this mans heart. 💗🙏🏻💗

I hadn't heard Shawn's works in several decades. But here we are, older, wiser(?), experienced and his words still bring insight and entertainment to our jaded soul.

Live on, troubadour!
