One of the most productive players of his era. The MVP helps his case as well. Will see him in Cooperstown. A class act!

I would like to see him in Cooperstown.

One of those players you can argue either side. The player I really want in there is Kenny Lofton. Please don't counter with his stats vs other hitters. He was the complete player who had a HUGE impact on any game he played in, with his legs, glove, or bat. There's no GM, past or present, who wouldn't take a prime Lofton over a prime Baines, Rizzuto, or Mazeroski!

I was not convinced before watching this. I am now convinced thanks to Derosa

He has as many hits as Mattingly. But he also has 1000 more walks than Mattingly. Also has more home runs and rbis.

He imo isn’t a hall of famer. But he will get in because of the walks/ obp, and having 3 too 3 mvp finishes and winning 1 in 2010 will definitely help his case.

Votto is a tough call....but so was Helton & Cepeda.

Knew Votto was great but didn't know he had sustained greatness like this.

Votto was about 250 RBI behind Helton, yet DeRosa says his numbers are on a par with Helton. Actually, his career RBIs are 2 behind Mark Grace, and Votto hit twice as many homers as Grace.

A shame no1 gave him a chance to say goodbye with at least one AB this season

No, but he’s a very good player. He had a damn good career.

Arenado? That silly dumb bird will never be on Votto level

The guy was very good, but not hall worthy. But you could make that case against a number of the recent inductees, as the standards seem to keep dropping . . . If Votto goes in, the veterans committee needs to immediately start putting in guys like Murphy and Evans and Parker and Whittaker, etc.

What a ridiculous question. Yes he is.

Lots of these comments don’t know ball

Votto should not be considered until the 3 Ms are in. Murphy, Mattingly and McGriff.

Many players with similar or better numbers that are not in. I could see a veterans committee selection down the road though.

No. He’s hall of very good. King of walks for the 2010s but with 7 really good to great seasons out of 17 he’s on par with Dale Murphy and Don Mattingly.
