I still can’t believe I first saw this on TV. Not getting my hopes up on MLB marketing, but still, a step in the right direction.

these remind of the early 2010 commercials 😊

"Just hit the ball the other way" try doing that on a fastball on the inside of the plate. People keep complaining that there's no small ball anymore but then complain when a rule is made to bring more small ball. On top of that, back in the day fielders didn't have papers with them so they could know exactly where to stand with each hitter.

One can only hope the Robo-Ump commercial is this amusing.

Great rule changes tbh, pitch clock to shorten games, shift ban to actually make hits matter more, slightly bigger bases to give runners who steal more of a chance to actually succeed, and now pitchers can only disengage twice per at bat, which is great so pitchers aren't trying to pick off a base runner 10 times in a row.

Crazy that baseball used to be a game of adjustments, and now they ban something that people just couldn’t (wouldn’t) adjust to.

All you had to do was move the ball to where the people weren't, Joey. It's not chess or anything. :D

They really said "make the bases bigger" like that's an exciting new rule change 😂😂 safer, yeah. But exciting enough to headline a marketing commercial idk man

So next they’ll ban the curveball because it hard to hit. Here’s your participation trophy

“Learn to hit oppo/beat the shift, it’s that easy” - people who have never played Major League Baseball, typing on their keyboard at home

Hitters could just hit opposite field and abuse the shift all day long. But nah, let’s ban defense. Stupid rule change.

It's too bad the powers that be in baseball think that fans want to see homeruns when we really want to see base hits, steals, bunts, close plays, great defensive plays, plenty of hustle. Homeruns and strikeouts are the most boring part of the game and their proliferation is driving people away from the game. Rather than trying the change the game to attract new young fans to the game, work on keeping the ones you have.

As a lifelong pitcher and someone who has never given a shit about hitting a homerun, all these rules for the offense has actually made me less interested in baseball. I used to watch atleast 8 outta 10 games for my team. These days its 2-3 outta 10 at most

The one rule I don’t like is the pitch out rule. I’ve seen speedsters on the base who force the one pitch out by pitcher then they get a monster lead and immediately are going to second. The catcher doesn’t even have a shot. I like seeing stolen bases but when the catcher doesn’t even have a chance to get him then the speedsters pretty much can get a double on a single or walk.

Love Votto, but if you're getting paid millions of dollars, you should be able to hit to the opposite field.
