As a Scottish person from the west I was horrified when I thought it was the first guy who was the glaswegian and I couldn't understand a word

From the US here. I work with a couple Scots and I can't understand them. Nobody here can. Nicest guys you ever met but hard to comprehend.

It took me 15 months living in Glasgow before I could understand them without having to concentrate hard while listening to them.

Okay it's easy to understand the second guy but the first person, I felt like I was having a stroke trying to understand what he was saying until I read the comments & found out he was speaking Polish 🤦‍♂️

Wasn't sure who had the Glaswegian accent at first

I only had the accent for my first few years then we moved to Canada.
I can almost always understand the accent having grown up with parents speaking that way.
Funny thing though I was always surprised when after coming to my house several times friends would tell me me they couldn’t understand what my parents were saying. One even said when they talk she just smiles & nods her head.
