Nowadays more and more people are doing blood tests for health and not just for sickness, but what do the results actually mean?
Let's break down the test for you in simple terms.
In this video your cholesterol status - HDL, LDL, Non-HDL cholesterols and triglycerides. We'll see how to improve your levels if they're out of balance and why that's important.
For simplicity I refer to 'good' and 'bad' cholesterols. Going into lipoproteins etc. I feel is beyond the scope of this simple explainer video as it doesn't really change the end objectives.

Information on this video is up to date as of June 2023.

Triglycerides are not elevated by fats in the diet but by sugar!

There are now at least five meta-analyses which say that dietary FAT/saturated fat have ZERO effect on atherosclerosis, i.e. saturated fats in the diet do not trigger nor accelerate atherosclerosis/CAD! Please take a look at the work done by Professor Bart Kay on this topic!
